In a post on their official X account, the Stride team announced an orderly shutdown of the Stride chain. Stride Labs and the Stride Association are running critically low on funds. At the current burn rate, capital will be exhausted by February 2027, with the current on-chain TVL at approximately $6 million. The specific schedule is as follows: • By October 12: Users can redeem stTokens normally on Stride • On October 12: New redemptions will be paused, and the remaining staked assets will begin unbonding • Around November 20: The Osmosis pool will go live, and redemption functionality will resume All stTokens (including stATOM, stOSMO, etc.) and their underlying assets will be migrated to Osmosis’ Transmuter pool at a fixed redemption rate, with the redemption mechanism shifting to direct token swaps. Following the migration, stToken rewards will cease to accrue, but redemption rights will remain valid indefinitely. Users holding stTokens on other chains do not need to bridge them back to Stride and can redeem directly on the Osmosis pool.
Cosmos ecosystem liquid staking protocol Stride has announced plans to wind down the Stride chain's operations in an orderly manner. Users can redeem stTokens through Stride before October 12, after which the redemption function will be suspended; once the underlying staked assets are fully unlocked, a redemption pool is expected to go live on Osmosis around November 20.stTokens will not expire, users do not need to take action before the migration, and stTokens already deployed on other chains do not need to be bridged back to Stride. stTokens such as stATOM and stOSMO, along with their corresponding underlying assets, will be migrated to Osmosis's Transmuter pool and exchanged at a fixed redemption ratio; reward accrual will cease after the migration is complete. Stride stated that Stride Labs and Stride Association have limited financial reserves, and at the current burn rate, funds are expected to be depleted by February 2027.
