Stride announces orderly shutdown of on-chain operations, stTokens will be migrated to Osmosis pools
In a post on their official X account, the Stride team announced an orderly shutdown of the Stride chain. Stride Labs and the Stride Association are running critically low on funds. At the current burn rate, capital will be exhausted by February 2027, with the current on-chain TVL at approximately $6 million.
The specific schedule is as follows:
•
By October 12: Users can redeem stTokens normally on Stride
•
On October 12: New redemptions will be paused, and the remaining staked assets will begin unbonding
•
Around November 20: The Osmosis pool will go live, and redemption functionality will resume
All stTokens (including stATOM, stOSMO, etc.) and their underlying assets will be migrated to Osmosis’ Transmuter pool at a fixed redemption rate, with the redemption mechanism shifting to direct token swaps. Following the migration, stToken rewards will cease to accrue, but redemption rights will remain valid indefinitely. Users holding stTokens on other chains do not need to bridge them back to Stride and can redeem directly on the Osmosis pool.
