According to Bitcoin.com, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis is pushing hard for the CLARITY Act to complete Senate voting before Congress adjourns. Section 303 of the bill grants the Treasury Department the authority to impose targeted digital asset sanctions on foreign jurisdictions, while Section 305 allows exchanges to freeze suspicious transactions for up to 180 days. On-chain data shows that North Korea's Lazarus Group stole approximately $643 million in the first half of 2026, accounting for two-thirds of the total global crypto theft during the same period ($972 million), including a $285 million attack on Drift Protocol in April and a $292 million attack on the KelpDAO cross-chain bridge. The group's cumulative theft amount has reached $6.75 billion since 2019. Currently, Galaxy Research has lowered the probability of the CLARITY Act passing within 2026 to 30%. The bill still requires 60 votes to advance, meaning at least 7 Democratic senators need to vote across party lines in support.
The Galaxy Head of Research stated in a post on X that, based on the current growth rate, even if the recent acceleration continues, the BIP-110 signaling will still be more than 51 percentage points below the mandatory 55% threshold by the activation block.
Odaily news, Samsung announced at the 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event that Samsung Wallet will support stablecoins, expanding from cash and savings to include new digital value forms such as stablecoins. A demo screen showed the wallet app holding Circle’s USDC, but Samsung did not mention USDC or USDT as partners for the initiative. Samsung product manager Lee Dinham stated that Samsung Wallet will become the financial ecosystem foundation connecting Galaxy devices and services, integrating payments, rewards, and digital assets into a single experience. Samsung also unveiled its first credit card, the Samsung Galaxy Card, offering users 5% cash back on eligible spending at brand stores and other qualifying merchants. Samsung previously introduced an embedded cryptocurrency wallet in the 2019 Galaxy S10 series, adopting a hardware-supported security solution. In October of this year, Samsung announced the integration of Coinbase's subscription service, Coinbase One, into Samsung Wallet in the US.

Galaxy Digital 宣布设立 500 万美元“比特币量子准备倡议”基金,资助开发者研究和部署应对未来量子计算风险的防护方案,重点包括抗量子签名机制、钱包迁移工具和安全审计。
According to Decrypt, Galaxy Digital has officially launched the "Bitcoin Quantum Readiness Initiative," with three core pillars including: providing up to $5 million in post-quantum cryptography research grants to developers, publishing specialized research reports through Galaxy Research, and establishing a quantum advisory committee composed of scholars from multiple top universities. The initiative targets "Q-Day"—the critical moment when quantum computers utilize Shor's algorithm to crack Bitcoin's elliptic curve encryption, forge signatures, and steal wallet assets. Project Eleven predicts that quantum computers capable of cryptographic threats may emerge as early as 2030, at which point approximately 6.9 million BTC will face exposure risks. The Coinbase Quantum Advisory Committee has also called on developers to immediately initiate migration work. Meanwhile, Trump has signed an executive order setting the deadline for the U.S. federal government to complete post-quantum cryptography migration to December 2031.
crypto financial services firm Galaxy Digital (GLXY) has announced the launch of an institutional-grade vault management service, “Galaxy Curator.” Built on the decentralized lending protocol Morpho and made available through Fireblocks Earn to over 2,400 institutional clients, the service helps them generate stablecoin on-chain yields without the need to directly manage DeFi infrastructure.Galaxy stated that the product aims to address the issue of large sums of stablecoins held by institutions remaining idle for extended periods. Due to settlement, capital deployment, and operational requirements, large-scale stablecoin assets often sit in custody accounts, while direct participation in DeFi protocols presents high technical and risk barriers. According to Odaily, the persistent memory supply shortage driven by AI demand continues to exert upward pricing pressure on smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics, Apple, and Xiaomi in the second half of the year. Industry sources indicate that Samsung Electronics' upcoming Galaxy Z8 series, set to be released this month, has an increased likelihood of price increases based on storage capacity. The price of the 256GB base model is expected to remain at a similar level to its predecessor, approximately 3.05 million won, while the 512GB and 1TB models may see price increases of around 120,000 won each. This pricing strategy aims to minimize the price increase for the base model while prioritizing adjustments to higher-capacity models, which are more affected by memory cost pressures.
Galaxy Digital Head of Research Alex Thorn stated that in 2024 and 2025, a large amount of long-dormant Bitcoin came back online and underwent on-chain transfers, on a scale second only to 2017. He believes this "major distribution" is mostly over, and the number of awoken coins in 2026 is expected to be less than half of last year's.
Odaily News: U.S. Senator Ron Wyden has sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, urging that any version of the "Digital Asset Market Clarity Act" considered by the Senate retain Section 604 to protect non-custodial blockchain developers who do not control user assets. Ron Wyden stated that developers should not be considered money transmitters simply because they create or publish software that allows users to manage their own digital assets. Coin Center Executive Director Peter Van Valkenburgh, the DeFi Education Fund, and Galaxy Digital Head of Research Alex Thorn have expressed support for this stance. Alex Thorn also noted that supporting developer protections does not mean Ron Wyden will endorse the entire CLARITY Act. Ron Wyden further stated that the provision does not protect developers involved in illegal activities and can direct law enforcement resources toward criminals and unlicensed money transmission businesses, rather than neutral software developers. Odaily Planet Daily reported that Galaxy stated on X platform that many Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) face difficulties in responding to client demands for allocating funds to DeFi while meeting compliance requirements under the U.S. SEC's Custody Rule. The current rule requires client assets to be held with a Qualified Custodian (QC), effectively excluding the self-custody path and making it difficult for traditional financial accounts to directly participate in DeFi strategies. In practice, however, the technical compatibility and compliance integration costs between custodians and new public chains, tokens, and DeFi protocols are high. Most custodians also lack the capability to support DeFi interactions, resulting in a persistent "compliance infrastructure gap." Meanwhile, fiduciary duties require RIAs to not simply exclude client demand for DeFi exposure, placing institutions in a structural conflict between compliance and investment intent.Galaxy believes that a potential future solution lies in establishing a principles-based regulatory framework, including MPC key management, governance controls, third-party audits, on-chain transparency, and rigorous protocol due diligence mechanisms. This approach would aim to unlock on-chain asset allocation capabilities without weakening regulatory objectives.
Galaxy Research Director stated on platform X that due to a shortened legislative calendar and increased competition for floor time from other matters, they have once again lowered the probability of the CLARITY Act passing in 2026. They still believe a vote will take place in July and hope the bill receives 60 supportive votes, but the outcome remains uncertain at this time. (Cointelegraph)
