According to The Rage, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) has approved the government’s pretrial plan, confirming that Roman Storm, developer of Tornado Cash, will face a retrial this fall on charges of conspiracy to launder money and conspiracy to evade sanctions. Meanwhile, Storm’s post-trial Rule 29 motion remains pending before the court; this motion challenges the evidence and legal theories underlying his August 2023 conviction, and a favorable ruling for Storm could potentially halt the retrial.
