Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan noted in a post that when gold ETFs launched in 2004, the gold market size was approximately $2.5 trillion; when bitcoin ETFs launched in 2024, the bitcoin market size was similarly around $2 trillion, with both assets starting from comparable positions.
