Jump Trading and DRW Enter the Compute Financial Futures Market, Jump Has Formed a Dedicated Trading Team

According to Bloomberg, Jump Trading and DRW are deploying traders and capital into an emerging market for financial contracts tied to computing power, pushing the computing infrastructure behind the AI boom from theory to tradable practice. Jump has already formed a dedicated team that will deploy its proprietary balance sheet to hold positions and assume related risks. The team includes Affaan Mustafa and Alejandro Soumah Fernandez, who joined from computing power trading startup Ito Markets Inc., with plans to conduct trading across over-the-counter (OTC), perpetual contracts, and prediction markets. The report notes that this move comes as the AI boom faces market scrutiny.
