Polygon Co-founder: Will Burn an Additional 25 Million POL Tokens, PoS Confirmation Time Approaches 1 Millisecond

Polygon co-founder Sandeep posted on X that the POL community has recently accumulated and permanently burned 100 million POL tokens through on-chain revenue, accounting for approximately 1% of the total supply, with an additional ~25 million POL to be burned subsequently. Sandeep also stated that POL (formerly MATIC) remains the "most undervalued and overlooked project." He noted that Polymarket has already launched perpetual contracts on Polygon. Following recent upgrades, Polygon PoS is gradually evolving into a more advanced blockchain, expected to achieve 1-millisecond confirmation times via block streaming in the future. Additionally, OMS will soon increase Polygon's daily transaction processing capacity by approximately 1 million.
