Ethereum proposes the EIP-8440 execution chain proof proposal, supporting constant-time chain synchronization.

Ethereum contributor Francesco Risitano (@frisitano) submitted the EIP-8440 (Execution Chain Proof) draft proposal on October 9. The proposal leverages a recursive zero-knowledge proof mechanism to prove the validity of all execution payloads from the tip beacon block back to the genesis beacon block, binding them to the beacon chain. Nodes can establish complete execution validity from a weak subjectivity checkpoint to the latest block header using a single proof, enabling constant-time chain synchronization.
