According to Cointelegraph, GnosisDAO has passed the GIP-153 proposal, approving Gnosis Chain's transition from a standalone Layer 1 network to a zero-knowledge Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) Rollup. The network will eventually phase out its existing validator set and settle transactions directly on Ethereum, becoming a Layer 2 that relies on Ethereum validators for settlement.
