Polymarket Launches Anti-Addiction Protection Measures in Response to Regulatory Pressure

According to CNN, prediction market Polymarket has announced a series of consumer protection measures, including deposit limits for users, an "exclusion list" feature (allowing temporary or permanent account blocks), and a partnership with virtual gambling addiction treatment company Birches Health to provide mental health resources. Against this backdrop, New York filed a lawsuit against Polymarket a week ago, accusing it of circumventing New York's strict gambling regulations; Polymarket has since filed a counterclaim in federal court. Currently, a bipartisan coalition of 44 states is arguing in court that prediction platforms should be subject to state gambling laws.
