According to Cailianshe, South Korean industry data shows that the average prices of traditional Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and NAND flash products set a monthly record high in July, driven by strong demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to data from industry tracking agency DRAMeXchange, the average PC fixed contract price of benchmark DRAM products rose 14.3% from the previous month to $24, marking the highest level since the tracker began compiling data in June 2016.
Data shows that NAND flash prices also continued to rise, with the average price of benchmark products surpassing the $30 mark last month. Single-layer NAND products surged significantly, with their average selling price rising 35% from the previous month, as memory suppliers prioritized capacity for high-layer 3D NAND and advanced manufacturing processes to meet AI-related demand.
