Odaily News: Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase's x402 payment protocol has processed approximately 14 million AI agent transfers over the past 30 days, with the Base network handling 7.3 million transfers and the Polygon network processing 5.6 million. USDC covers nearly all of these transfers. x402 utilizes the HTTP 402 "Payment Required" mechanism, enabling software to automatically request and complete payments. Coinbase has expanded its related payment services to the Base, Solana, and Polygon networks, supporting USDC as the settlement asset. In July, Coinbase launched Coinbase Business, allowing enterprises to directly receive USDC payments from AI agents, with support for payment collection, reconciliation, and withdrawals. Coinbase has described agent payments as one of its "high-conviction bets." (Bitcoin.com News)
Odaily News: Coinbase has announced that it will stop supporting USDC deposits and withdrawals on the Noble network as of August 17. USDC deposits and withdrawals on other supported networks, including Ethereum, Base, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon, remain unaffected. Coinbase reminds users not to transfer funds to its Noble network USDC deposit address after August 17, as such funds may be irretrievable.
Bitget Wallet has officially launched full-token payment capabilities, allowing users to use thousands of cryptocurrencies beyond just USDT/USDC for card top-ups and QR code payments, eliminating the need for manual swaps or cross-chain transfers. This feature is now available in over 50 countries and regions across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and select emerging markets. The initial range of supported tokens includes mainstream assets such as USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, BNB, BGB, and POL; ecosystem and community tokens like SHIB; as well as regional stablecoins like BRZ (Brazilian Real-backed stablecoin) and XSGD (Singapore Dollar-backed stablecoin). This capability is powered by Onchain Payments Matrix and currently supports over 10 public chains, including Polygon, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Base, with continuous expansion of supported tokens and networks underway.Through this move, Bitget Wallet aims to integrate on-chain assets into users' everyday consumption and payment scenarios, further enhancing the practical utility of cryptocurrencies and ensuring users can spend any token for real-world purchases.
Block's Cash App is gradually rolling out stablecoin payment functionality to its nearly 60 million users. According to sources familiar with the matter, the feature currently covers approximately 25% of users and is expected to reach full 100% availability within this week. The core functionality supports users in depositing and withdrawing via USDC, allowing free transfers of funds between external wallets and Cash App balances, and using stablecoins as a settlement tool for payments rather than as investment products. It currently supports transactions across four blockchain networks, including Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum. Due to the irreversible nature of on-chain transactions, incorrect addresses or unsupported network transfers may result in permanent loss of funds.Block CEO Jack Dorsey previously stated that despite his longstanding preference for Bitcoin, user demand for stablecoins has prompted the company to adjust its strategy. Huma Finance posted on X platform, stating that its old v1 contract deployed on Polygon was exploited today, resulting in the transfer of approximately 101,400 USDC. This incident did not compromise user funds, and the related PST system was also unaffected. Only the gradually phased-out v1 legacy pools were impacted. The Huma v2 system is a complete rewrite deployed on Solana and is not vulnerable to this exploit. The team was already in the process of retiring v1 liquidity pools, and following this incident, they have fully suspended the operation of v1 contracts and accelerated the completion of migration efforts.

According to Fortune, Meta has quietly launched a stablecoin payment feature, offering select creators in Colombia and the Philippines the ability to receive payments in USDC on the Solana and Polygon networks. Creators can enter their third-party wallet addresses into Facebook’s payout platform to withdraw funds. Meta does not provide USDC-to-local-fiat conversion services and partners with Stripe to handle related tax filings. According to Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, the initiative is expected to expand to over 160 countries by year-end. This launch comes more than four years after Meta’s Libra project—later renamed Diem—was discontinued in 2022.
