Lido DAO Launches NEST On-Chain Voting, Plans to Introduce Automated LDO Buyback Mechanism
Lido DAO has launched on-chain voting for the NEST automated buyback mechanism, with voting ending at 14:00 UTC on August 8. NEST is a rule-based on-chain mechanism designed to connect Lido protocol performance with LDO token value. If the proposal passes, Lido will systematically buy back LDO in decentralized markets using protocol revenue or liquidity controlled by the protocol, and execute around the LDO and wstETH liquidity pair, thereby shifting from periodic governance-driven buybacks to a continuous, predictable automated value distribution model.
