Odaily News: Cambodia has for the first time publicly revealed the internal operations of the scam compound "Park 8," the largest fraud city in Cambodia, capable of housing up to 20,000 workers who have been trafficked and forced to engage in online fraud. It is operated by the Cambodian company Legend Innovation.Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic found that the operating company is linked to Prince Group. Legend Innovation is alleged to have connections to the US- and UK-sanctioned Prince Group through company phone numbers, director activities, and related business records. Specifically, the phone number registered to Legend Innovation previously appeared in the records of a real estate company allegedly belonging to the Prince Group network. A Huione Pay physical store was once operating inside the compound, allowing people to exchange cryptocurrency and cash, while Huione Logistics was alleged to provide freight services between Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the compound. The site is operated by the Cambodian company Legend Innovation. Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic's investigation revealed that the operator is linked to Prince Group. Legend Innovation is alleged to maintain ties with the US- and UK-sanctioned Prince Group through corporate phone numbers, director activities, and related business records. Legend: Will Gradually Shut Down the Company, App to Be Taken Offline on July 12
Legend posted on Platform X, stating that after two years of development, the company has decided to gradually shut down. The team pointed out that the product failed to reach the scale required for long-term sustainable development. The Legend app will remain operational for the next 60 days and will go offline on July 12. New user registration has been suspended as of today, and existing users are advised to withdraw their funds before the app shuts down. Relevant documentation will be retained for 60 days after the app goes offline.
Legend Completes $3.5M Seed Funding Round Led by Electric Capital
According to official announcements, Legend, a decentralized exchange protocol, has completed a $3.5 million seed funding round led by Electric Capital, with participation from Amber Group and GSR. Its total funding has now exceeded $5 million.
