UK agricultural robotics startup Versatile RobotX announces completion of over EUR 1.17 million in funding
UK agricultural robotics startup Versatile RobotX announced it has completed over 1.17 million euros (approximately 1 million pounds) in financing, with funding sources including the British Design Fund (BDF), the Innovate UK Growth Catalyst Investor Partnership Programme Round 2, and Defra Farming Innovation Programme grants. The company was co-founded by University of Essex Professor Klaus McDonald-Maier and Dr. Vishwanathan Mohan in July 2024, and its two core products—automatic fruit and vegetable picking robots and hydroponic robotic harvesters—have completed field validation at well-known UK farms such as Wilkin & Sons.
