Odaily News - On-chain analyst Ember posted on X platform stating that USDG's market cap has grown from $300 million to $3.5 billion within a year, with $1.95 billion of that held on OKX's X Layer chain. USDG is not a stablecoin widely known to the general public, with relatively limited promotion and exposure. X Layer primarily supports USDG through real use cases such as stablecoin yield generation, Boost, and payments, making it the sixth-largest stablecoin by scale. USDG's growth over the past year has been consistent and steady, not artificially inflated in the short term through large-scale subsidies. Ember noted that this reflects the high user base and activity levels of OKX Wallet. Even amid the current subdued market conditions, X Layer has achieved through its relevant modules what other stablecoins could only accomplish with substantial capital investment.
According to Korean media Asiae, six top Silicon Valley VC firms, including Sequoia Capital, a16z, Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and NEA, announced the signing of a strategic investment cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the South Korean National Pension Service (NPS), planning to jointly explore investment opportunities, share investment information, and strengthen their global venture capital layout. Additionally, with the South Korean government accelerating policies to attract overseas venture capital, coupled with the launch of the 200 trillion won "National Growth Fund," the market expects the Korean venture capital sector to see simultaneous inflows of policy funds, private capital, and overseas capital, with strategic industries such as AI and semiconductors expected to receive more investment. However, industry insiders warn that if a large amount of capital concentrates on a few popular enterprises, it may push up corporate valuations and create bubbles, potentially facing valuation correction pressure during future IPO and M&A exits, affecting fund return rates.
According to The Block, JPMorgan analysts pointed out in the latest report that although recent spot Bitcoin ETF fund inflows have fluctuated significantly, Strategy's increase of USD reserves from $2.55 billion to $3 billion (covering approximately 20 months of preferred stock dividends), as well as Bitcoin futures (including CME futures and perpetual contracts) recording positive fund inflows this week, are both "positive signals" for Bitcoin's prospects. The analysts also noted that leveraged ETF inflows linked to Strategy have remained stable for seven consecutive weeks, mainly driven by retail investors, effectively supporting its stock price. Meanwhile, Strategy President and CEO Phong Le stated that the company is "very confident" in its balance sheet, will only consider debt risk if Bitcoin prices fall to the $8,000 to $10,000 range, and plans to continue issuing additional shares after the STRC preferred stock returns to a $100 par value, with the proceeds potentially used to purchase more Bitcoin.
