Base experiences second mainnet outage in two days, now restored

Base experienced an abnormal block production issue on its mainnet for the second time in two days. According to the official status page, the incident occurred at 15:33 UTC. The team subsequently confirmed the problem and resumed block production at 16:11 UTC.Base stated that node operators need to restart their Base mainnet nodes to re-synchronize.The symptoms of this incident are similar to the outage from the previous day. On Thursday, Base experienced an abnormal block that prevented the Sequencer from building new blocks, resulting in a network halt lasting approximately two hours. Although user funds were not affected, withdrawal services were temporarily disrupted.Officials stated that this incident was also characterized by a chain halt, sharing similar features with the previous day's event. The network has now resumed operations.

Base has postponed the Beryl mainnet upgrade to June 26 at 18:00 UTC.

Base has postponed the Beryl mainnet upgrade to June 26 at 18:00 UTC to ensure full activation of the B20 Activation Registry. Developers must wait until the registry goes live before deploying B20 tokens, with an estimated maximum wait time of approximately one hour. Base stated that the previous ~2-hour mainnet block interruption was unrelated to this upgrade. Additionally, Beryl will reduce the withdrawal waiting period from Base to Ethereum from 7 days to 5 days and integrate Reth V2.

Base co-founder responds to network outage: user funds remain safe, unaffected by incident

Base co-founder Jesse Pollak responded on platform X to the network outage, stating that user funds have always been safe and were not affected by this incident. However, the on-chain outage was unacceptable. The root cause has been identified and fixed, and a comprehensive post-mortem report will be released later. Base will use this event to continuously improve platform stability and reliability, aiming to become the infrastructure supporting 24/7 global financial activity. Jesse Pollak added that once tokenized stocks are launched on Base, lending functionality will also be provided.

Base Mainnet Block Production Resumed After Interruption; Team Confirms Root Cause Was Consensus Anomaly Triggered by Invalid Block

Base has resumed block production and transaction processing this morning after an approximately two-hour outage. Base stated that the mainnet sequencer and related systems have stabilized, block production is operating normally, and widespread synchronization issues across the ecosystem have largely been resolved.

Base Network Resumes Operations After 2-Hour Outage

the Ethereum Layer 2 network Base mainnet experienced a "major failure," leading to unstable production of new blocks. According to the Base status page, the issue began around 16:03 UTC.Base resumed operations after approximately two hours of downtime. This failure previously halted block production and transaction processing. The Base team stated that an invalid block triggered the related issue. They are currently investigating the root cause and recommend that node operators restart their nodes. This incident marks another network interruption for Base following its previous downtime in August 2025.

Gray-scale Research: AAVE Token’s Current Price Has Valuation Support; Reasonable Price in Base Case Scenario Could Reach $175 Within One Year

GreyScale Research’s report states that as the valuation framework for crypto assets gradually aligns with traditional financial analysis, decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols with clear cash flows and robust token value-capture mechanisms are attracting increased attention. Using Aave as an example, the report notes that Aave—the leading on-chain lending protocol—generates revenue primarily from lending spreads, treasury yields, and GHO-related activities (GHO being its native stablecoin). Following continuous improvements to its governance mechanism, the linkage between the protocol’s economics and the value accruing to AAVE token holders has strengthened.

Squid Integrates Ripple's Stablecoin RLUSD, Enabling One-Click Cross-Chain Swaps

Squid, a cross-chain infrastructure platform, has announced the integration of RLUSD, the stablecoin issued by Ripple. Users can now swap into or out of RLUSD in a single transaction across different blockchains and digital assets.Through this integration, RLUSD will gain access to over 100 blockchains and more than 20,000 tokens supported by Squid. Users can directly exchange assets such as USDC, USDT, ETH, and XRP for RLUSD without needing to manually bridge chains, wrap tokens, or execute multiple transactions.RLUSD is natively issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, and has been extended to Ethereum Layer 2 networks such as the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Optimism, Base, Ink, and Unichain via Wormhole's Native Token Transfer standard. Squid's routing layer sits atop these underlying transfer mechanisms, allowing users to utilize RLUSD irrespective of the specific issuance chain.Squid states that its intent-based routing system, which uses market makers to fulfill orders with liquidity on the destination chain, can settle transactions within seconds and is compatible with various cross-chain messaging and issuance standards. Beyond end-users, developers can also integrate RLUSD through Squid's tools for applications including cross-chain payments, treasury management, user onboarding, and DeFi.

MetaMask Launches AI Agent Wallet Supporting Cross-Chain DeFi Operations with Built-in Transaction Security Protection

According to MetaMask’s official blog, MetaMask has officially launched its first self-custodial wallet designed specifically for AI agents—MetaMask Agent Wallet—and will begin its Early Access Program on June 8, 2026. The wallet connects to AI agent frameworks via a command-line interface (CLI) and supports the full suite of DeFi functionalities—including token swaps, perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and liquidity provision—across all EVM-compatible chains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon, BSC, Linea, Sei) as well as Hyperliquid. On security, the wallet offers two operational modes: - Default “Guard Mode” allows users to set daily spending limits and protocol allowlists; transactions exceeding these rules require manual two-factor authentication (2FA) approval before execution. - “Beast Mode” grants advanced users greater autonomy, but malicious transaction detection and mandatory 2FA verification remain enforced. All transactions undergo transaction simulation, Blockaid threat scanning, and MEV protection. Secure transactions are backed by up to $10,000 per month in transaction protection. Users retain full control of their private keys and can export their seed phrase at any time. The full public release is expected this summer.
