LG Electronics to Develop New Blockchain Based on Arbitrum, ARB Jumps Over 5%

LG Electronics has selected the Ethereum Layer 2 network Arbitrum to develop a new blockchain to support advertising and media-related scenarios. Following the news, Arbitrum's native token ARB rose more than 5% in a single day.The network will be used for the placement, purchase, sale, and management of digital advertisements, as well as recording user interactions with ad content. Developed by Offchain Labs, Arbitrum utilizes Optimistic Rollup technology, aiming to provide a faster and lower-cost transaction experience on Ethereum. This is not LG's first foray into blockchain. Previously, LG launched the enterprise-grade blockchain Monachain through its IT service subsidiary LG CNS and developed the crypto wallet Wallypto. It also launched the Art Lab NFT marketplace, although the platform was shut down last year.

MetaMask Launches AI Agent Wallet Supporting Cross-Chain DeFi Operations with Built-in Transaction Security Protection

According to MetaMask’s official blog, MetaMask has officially launched its first self-custodial wallet designed specifically for AI agents—MetaMask Agent Wallet—and will begin its Early Access Program on June 8, 2026. The wallet connects to AI agent frameworks via a command-line interface (CLI) and supports the full suite of DeFi functionalities—including token swaps, perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and liquidity provision—across all EVM-compatible chains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon, BSC, Linea, Sei) as well as Hyperliquid. On security, the wallet offers two operational modes: - Default “Guard Mode” allows users to set daily spending limits and protocol allowlists; transactions exceeding these rules require manual two-factor authentication (2FA) approval before execution. - “Beast Mode” grants advanced users greater autonomy, but malicious transaction detection and mandatory 2FA verification remain enforced. All transactions undergo transaction simulation, Blockaid threat scanning, and MEV protection. Secure transactions are backed by up to $10,000 per month in transaction protection. Users retain full control of their private keys and can export their seed phrase at any time. The full public release is expected this summer.

Radiant Capital Announces Shutdown, Unable to Recover from $50 Million Hack

According to The Block, the DeFi lending protocol Radiant Capital has announced it will officially cease operations. The protocol suffered a hack in October 2024, losing approximately $51 million; the attacker gained unauthorized access by deploying backdoor contracts on Arbitrum and BNB Chain. Earlier in 2024, the protocol had also been hit by a flash loan attack, resulting in a loss of roughly 1,900 ETH (approximately $4.5 million). After 18 months of recovery efforts, Radiant Capital stated that it has neither recovered a significant portion of the stolen funds nor secured new financing, declaring that “the DAO has no viable path forward.” The protocol will now enter a “maintenance mode”: its frontend and smart contracts remain accessible, allowing users to withdraw funds, repay loans, and manage positions. Any funds recovered in the future will be returned to affected users.

Aave: 116,500 rsETH Released During April 18 rsETH Incident; Asset Backing Fully Restored

Aave has published a post-mortem of the April 18 rsETH incident, stating that the rsETH LayerZero V2 cross-chain bridge of liquid staking protocol Kelp accepted a forged message during a cross-chain transfer from Unichain to Ethereum. This caused the adapter on the Ethereum side to release 116,500 rsETH without a corresponding burn on the Unichain side. Aave stated that the attack occurred on a third-party cross-chain bridge infrastructure. However, the attacker deposited the stolen rsETH into 8 Aave V3 positions, borrowing 82,650 WETH and 821 wstETH, which impacted the Aave market.Aave stated that the attacker's rsETH on Arbitrum has now been burned. The LayerZero OFT adapter has replenished 116,131.72 rsETH in 5 batches, and the asset backing for rsETH has been fully restored. The affected WETH and rsETH markets have returned to normal.

Cash App now supports USDC stablecoin transactions on Ethereum and other networks

Cash App, the payment application from Block, now allows users to send and receive Circle-issued USDC stablecoins on Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and Arbitrum. These transfers are currently fee-free. USDC stablecoins received via Cash App are automatically converted into U.S. dollar balances. This feature is not yet available to customers in New York State. Users must complete identity verification and are subject to transaction limits. Block has previously focused primarily on Bitcoin, including the development of mining hardware and the self-custody wallet BitKey. Earlier this year, Jack Dorsey described stablecoins as “moving from one gatekeeper to another,” while acknowledging the growing customer demand.

Block's Cash App to Phased Rollout Stablecoin Payment Feature

Block's Cash App is gradually rolling out stablecoin payment functionality to its nearly 60 million users. According to sources familiar with the matter, the feature currently covers approximately 25% of users and is expected to reach full 100% availability within this week. The core functionality supports users in depositing and withdrawing via USDC, allowing free transfers of funds between external wallets and Cash App balances, and using stablecoins as a settlement tool for payments rather than as investment products. It currently supports transactions across four blockchain networks, including Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum. Due to the irreversible nature of on-chain transactions, incorrect addresses or unsupported network transfers may result in permanent loss of funds.Block CEO Jack Dorsey previously stated that despite his longstanding preference for Bitcoin, user demand for stablecoins has prompted the company to adjust its strategy.
