According to The Defiant, the French National Assembly passed an amendment during the consideration of the 2027 budget bill by a vote of 38 in favor and 37 against, proposing to revoke the tax deferral treatment for certain crypto assets when converted into single fiat-currency-backed stablecoins starting January 1, 2027. A total of 100 lawmakers participated in the vote, with 75 votes counted as valid.
