Robinhood Chain meme coin-related trading volume plummeted 96%, while Circle Arc also experiences a short-term speculative frenzy

Source: fortune.com Event types: Online/Update
According to reports from Fortune magazine, Robinhood Chain and Circle’s Arc public chain have recently witnessed successive waves of Meme coin trading, though the sustainability of these speculative activities is being questioned. Data from CryptoQuant indicates that the single-day trading volume for Meme coin and stock token pairs on Robinhood Chain hit $443 million in early September before plunging by 96%. At the same time, the chain saw an average addition of about 26,000 new tokens per day in September, with nearly 45,000 issued in a single day on September 8. However, the vast majority of these tokens traded very little after listing, and their current value has dwindled close to zero. A similar phenomenon has also appeared on Arc, the public chain rolled out by Circle in mid-September, whose Meme coin issuance platform generated over $336 million in trading volume on its first day of open public trading. Julio Moreno, head of research at CryptoQuant, noted that Meme coin hype can draw capital and engagement to new public chains in the short term, but this model is hard to sustain, and most Meme coins will ultimately approach zero.
