Analysts: Brent crude oil continues to hold above $100 as Bitcoin faces macro pressure.

According to an analysis published by on-chain analyst Darkfost on CryptoQuant, sustained tensions in the Gulf region and escalating Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries have kept Brent crude prices consistently above $100. High oil prices are cascading into production costs, service prices, and commodities, embedding inflation deeper into the economy. This may drag down economic growth, constrain market liquidity, and particularly pressure high-risk assets such as Bitcoin. Historical data indicates that when Brent crude enters a strong uptrend and trades above its annual average, Bitcoin's momentum typically slows; conversely, sharp declines in oil prices often coincide with Bitcoin rallies. Oil prices saw a brief dip in July, benefiting Bitcoin, but Brent has since staged a strong rebound. Darkfost noted that there is no simple causal relationship between the two; rather, it is the economic environment driven by high oil prices that poses headwinds for risk assets. Although liquidity could rotate across different markets and continue to support Bitcoin's upside, current macroeconomic conditions are unfavorable for fresh liquidity inflows.
