According to the official FATF website, the FATF published Turkey's 2026 Mutual Evaluation Report on September 23. The report indicates that Turkey has made progress in the use of financial intelligence and international cooperation, but continues to exhibit clear deficiencies in money laundering investigations involving high-risk predicate offenses (such as drug smuggling and illegal gambling), the recovery of overseas assets, and suspicious transaction reporting. Turkey received a "Partially Compliant" rating for both targeted financial sanctions related to the financing of proliferation (R.7) and the regulation of non-profit organizations (R.8), and was ultimately placed on the Enhanced Follow-Up List. It is required to complete key remedial actions within three years and report on its progress regularly.
