OpenAI Q2 Revenue $6.7 Billion, Growth Slower Than Anthropic Disappoints Investors

According to The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI announced revenue of $6.7 billion for the second quarter of 2026, an 18% quarter-over-quarter increase from $5.7 billion in the first quarter. However, the company's operating profit margin remained negative, losses widened further, and it moved further away from profitability goals, disappointing some investors who had hoped it would catch up with competitor Anthropic.
