According to TechTimes, AI model evaluation company Vals AI announced the completion of a $40 million Series A funding round at a $400 million valuation, led by a16z, with participation from new investors such as 8VC, Pear VC, and Bloomberg Beta, as well as HRT Ventures and Next Ladder Ventures. Vals AI evaluates frontier models launched by companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, and xAI using an independent system rather than traditional public benchmarks, and the new funds will be used to expand evaluation infrastructure and launch testing tools that create programming benchmarks based on enterprise GitHub codebases.
