a16z cuts most of its portfolio's recruiting teams

Source: www.axios.com
According to Axios, venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has laid off most of its 34-member portfolio recruiting team, which was primarily responsible for assisting portfolio companies with talent acquisition. Insiders revealed that the remaining members will be reassigned to specialized vertical investment divisions such as growth or cryptocurrency. a16z plans to allow each dedicated investment team to establish independent recruiting units based on their own business needs, rather than continuing to rely on the original centralized full-stack talent team. Those team members are still listed on the firm’s official website, and its spokesperson declined to comment on the matter.
