Japan’s stablecoin project JPYC issued a notice reminding users to beware of counterfeit JPYC tokens.

According to an official announcement by JPYC Co., Ltd. (@jpyc_official), when searching for “JPYC” in wallets or DEXs, users may encounter counterfeit tokens with similar names, logos, or symbols. The official reminder states that token authenticity must not be verified solely based on name or icon; users must strictly cross-check whether the token’s contract address matches exactly the one listed in the official FAQ—any single character difference indicates a different token. Users are also advised against performing any actions—including sending, swapping, approving, or signing—with unknown tokens.
