Zcash developers have confirmed the NU7 upgrade in November, reducing block times to 25 seconds.

According to CoinDesk, Zcash developers have reached an agreement on the NU7 upgrade, which is scheduled to activate at block height 3,543,405 (expected around November 5). The upgrade will reduce the block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, tripling transaction confirmation speeds. At the same time, 60% of the fees collected per block will leave circulation, with plans to return them to miners beginning in February 2031, while the existing block reward halving schedule remains in effect.
