SK Hynix Confirms 54 Trillion Korean Won Investment to Build Yongin and Cheongju Wafer Fabs, Completion Date Moved Up to 2033

According to Yonhap News Agency, SK hynix announced it will invest 35.2 trillion won and 19.1 trillion won respectively for the construction of the Yongin Phase 2 wafer fab (Y2) and the Cheongju NAND production base M17 wafer fab, with a total investment of approximately 54 trillion won. Meanwhile, SK hynix has significantly advanced the completion time of the Yongin semiconductor cluster from the originally planned 2045 to 2033.
