A UK couple was burgled and forced to transfer a large amount of cryptocurrency at knifepoint.

According to the UK West Midlands Police, a young couple's residence in Smith’s Wood, Birmingham, was targeted in a suspected premeditated home invasion robbery. On December 13, 2025, as the couple arrived home and opened the door, three men exited a nearby vehicle, forcibly entered the residence, and demanded that the couple transfer a large amount of cryptocurrency. During the incident, a fourth individual provided instructions to the attackers via a video call. Police stated that the husband was beaten and sustained serious injuries, while his wife, who was pregnant at the time, was threatened with a knife. After obtaining the cryptocurrency and several high-value watches, the perpetrators fled in a suspected black BMW X3. Crimestoppers is currently offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information, which applies to any details that ultimately lead to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
