Qian Zhimin’s 60,000 Bitcoin Case Takes Another Turn: UK High Court Approves Chinese Victims’ Appeal

Source: wenews.caixin.com
As reported by Caixin, just four days after the High Court ruled that Chinese law applies to the property rights dispute involving over 60,000 bitcoins in the Qian Zhimin case, approximately 16,000 Chinese victims involved in the UK recovery proceedings have been granted the opportunity to continue challenging the ruling. The High Court has convened another hearing, during which the judge approved Chinese victims' appeals against the October 12 decision on applicable law. Lawyers for all parties also discussed issues including the litigation costs arising from the prior dispute over applicable law, whether the approximately 16,000 individual applicants will continue their claims, and procedures for withdrawal.
