According to Al Jazeera’s report this afternoon (May 3, local time), Iran’s latest negotiation proposal consists of three phases. The first phase includes: “converting the ceasefire into a comprehensive ceasefire within 30 days”; “establishing guiding principles for an international mechanism capable of ensuring hostilities will not resume”; “implementing a ceasefire across all regions, with both sides pledging not to violate it—including Iran’s regional allies and Israel”; “gradually lifting the blockade on Iranian ports in coordination with the phased reopening of the Strait of Hormuz”; “Iran assuming responsibility for mine clearance”; “revising Iran’s prior proposals regarding compensation and related matters”; and “the U.S. withdrawing its forces from waters adjacent to Iran and halting new troop deployments.” The second phase includes: “holding discussions on a complete halt to uranium enrichment over a maximum period of 15 years”; and “resuming uranium enrichment activities by Iran under a ‘zero-stockpile’ principle upon expiration of the agreed timeframe.” Additionally, the proposal opposes dismantling or destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities; regarding existing highly enriched uranium stockpiles, it proposes either transferring them abroad or diluting their enrichment level. The proposal also addresses the gradual lifting of economic sanctions against Iran. In the third phase, Iran will hold strategic talks with regional countries to discuss establishing a comprehensive regional security architecture. (CCTV International News)
