Former New York Governor: CLARITY Act Must Pass, U.S. Crypto Regulation Already Lagging Behind Globally

Source: www.coindesk.com Event types: Regulation/Compliance
According to CoinDesk, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated Tuesday at the SALT conference held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, that the U.S. Congress must pass the CLARITY Act as soon as possible, otherwise the United States will continue to lag behind markets such as Europe in crypto regulation. Cuomo noted that long-term regulatory uncertainty has made it difficult for enterprises to conduct business compliantly in the United States. If Congress delays legislation, regulatory rules will change frequently with political power shifts, which is unfavorable for long-term industry planning. Currently, the CLARITY Act has not yet passed the Senate due to disagreements such as Democrats demanding strengthened ethics clauses. Majority Leader Thune has arranged for an immediate procedural vote after the Senate recess ends.
