According to The Block, a couple in Somme, France, experienced three home invasions in less than a month after purchasing the former residence of a cryptocurrency millionaire. The incident stemmed from the previous owner's tax information and address being leaked to the dark web, leading criminals to mistakenly believe the new residents held approximately 1 million euros in crypto assets.
The first invasion was repelled by a dog; during the second, the intruders subdued the residents and livestreamed the attack on Snapchat, fleeing after confirming the target was incorrect; the third invasion was deterred by the alarm system. The Amiens Criminal Court subsequently convicted two men (aged 20 and 21) involved in the third invasion, sentencing them to 3 years and 18 months in prison respectively.
