Under the US SEC's innovation exemption, the first batch of tokenized stock trading platforms could take shape as early as next quarter.
As reported by Crypto In America, Tyler Lindeman, chief legal counsel for the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Digital Asset Working Group, stated that the first tokenized stock trading platforms operating under the "innovation exemption" could begin taking shape as early as next quarter, with relevant companies expected to release operational announcements in the coming months. This five-year conditional exemption permits qualified platforms to trade tokenized versions of U.S.-listed stocks via public permissionless blockchains, leveraging automated market makers and liquidity pools.
