According to CNBC, Michael Burry, the real-life inspiration for "The Big Short," stated that the current structural shortage of memory chips is temporary, and projected that the memory industry will re-enter a downturn cycle over the next two years as capacity catches up with demand. Burry revealed that he is increasing his put positions on Micron, Nebius, the SOXX Semiconductor ETF, and Palantir, and will continue to hold the related put options, while also noting that the Nasdaq 100 index is currently "overvalued and overly concentrated."
