Former New York Fed Chair: AI Investment Boom May Lead the Fed on an Interest Rate Path of Initial Hikes Followed by Significant Cuts

Source: xnews.jin10.com Event types: Financing/Fundraising
According to Jinshi Data, former New York Fed President Bill Dudley stated that the AI investment boom could make the U.S. interest rate path significantly more volatile than current market expectations. In the short term, large-scale capital expenditures in data centers, chips, and computing power infrastructure are driving up economic growth, asset prices, and funding demand, which could force the Federal Reserve to raise rates further; but once AI capital spending peaks or financing conditions deteriorate, these same forces could quickly drag on the economy and prompt the Fed to shift toward a more pronounced rate-cutting cycle.
