Paraguay raids two illegal cryptocurrency mining farms, confiscating 35 mining rigs.
The National Electricity Administration of Paraguay, in coordination with police and prosecutorial authorities, raided two cryptocurrency mining facilities suspected of unauthorized electricity usage in Minga Guazú and Lemancito of the Upper Paraná Department, seizing a total of 35 mining rigs. The Minga Guazú facility was fined approximately 176 million guaraníes (nearly $30,000). The Paraguayan Chamber of Deputies has directed the National Electricity Administration to submit a report detailing industry electricity consumption, tariff structures, and regulatory oversight.
