OpenAI has hired Patreon co-founder and CTO Sam Yam to lead the Creator Product line, with former Head of Product Drew Rowny and Engineering Lead Shannon Ma joining alongside him. Sam Yam stated that they will collaborate with creators to build tools and open early access, while encouraging everyone to keep an eye on next week’s OpenAI DevDay. This move signals that OpenAI is exploring the creator monetization business. Previous reports had already noted that OpenAI hired Sam Yam to lead its creator products.
