Meta Tests Human Proxy Calls for Muse, Rolls Back Feature After Privacy Controversy

Source: www.ithome.com Event types: Online/Update
Meta tested a human concierge service for its personal AI assistant, Muse, with human contractors placing some calls on the backend. Following employee privacy concerns, the company admitted that failing to properly disclose the practice was a mistake and temporarily rolled back the feature. Internal testing showed that human-conducted calls could boost the success rate to 95% to 98%, outperforming fully AI-driven calls. Muse recorded over 2.5 million downloads within two weeks of its launch, while Meta's stock price rose more than 20% during the same period.
