"Odyssey" Pirated Files Hide Lumma Stealer, Can Bypass Two-Factor Authentication to Steal Crypto Wallets
According to Decrypt, cybersecurity company Bitdefender has issued a warning that malware disguised as HD pirated copies of the movie "Odyssey" has spread rapidly within days of the film's release. These files are disguised as normal torrent files with naming conventions such as WEBRip and Blu-ray, but are actually Windows executable programs that automatically install the Lumma Stealer information-stealing trojan upon execution. Lumma Stealer can steal browser passwords, payment information, autofill data, remote desktop credentials, and cryptocurrency wallets, and can also steal authentication cookies; even if the target account has two-factor authentication (MFA) enabled, it is not spared. Attackers also deliberately disguised the malicious file icons to resemble the VLC player, exploiting Windows' default feature of hiding extensions to deceive users.

: Citrini analyst Jukan stated on the X platform that a Morgan Stanley research report circulating in the market shows that analyst Shawn Kim has turned bearish on the memory chip industry. The report suggests that NAND module manufacturers' inventory has risen to about 13 weeks, with demand clearly cooling. Binance Lowers VIP 3 Asset Threshold to $1 Million, OTC Spot Volume Counted at 4x Factor
: Binance has announced adjustments to its VIP Program. Effective from July 21, 2026, at 04:00 AM EST, the wallet asset requirement for VIP 3 will be reduced from $3 million to $1 million. Eligible users will gain access to benefits such as preferential fee rates, increased account limits, market information, and event invitations. Concurrently, Binance is modifying how OTC spot trading volume is counted towards VIP eligibility. Under the new rules, OTC spot trading volume will be multiplied by a factor of 4 and added to the total spot trading volume. For example, Binance states that $1 million in OTC spot volume will be counted as $4 million towards the applicable threshold. Previously, OTC-related eligibility was capped at VIP 4. Binance stated that by incorporating this broader spot volume metric, users who meet the BNB balance and other requirements can now advance up to VIP 9 within the full VIP framework. VIP trading fee rates will remain unchanged, and the system will automatically handle tier upgrades on a daily basis.
